Behaviour Support Practitioner & Support Coordination
Sharon has worked in community services for the past fifteen years, with the last seven specifically engaged in the disability sector. This has included supporting families and participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme to understand and implement their plan’s and improve their quality of life.
Sharon has significant experience working with and advocating for people with a disability. This has included collaborating with carers and family members, allied health professionals, disability support providers and support workers to provide a person-centred and positive approach to capacity building, connection and integrated service supports.
Sharon has also worked extensively with mainstream and community-based supports within the private and public sector and as a result has a cross section of skills and experience to share.
Sharon has achieved a Masters in Disability Studies, as well as on going industry based professional development with an increasing focus on behaviour management strategies and training.
Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, weight training, swimming, gardening, home renovation and reading. Sharon is friendly, practical, knowledgeable and will work with focus and determination to find out what a person wants and what they need to connect them to the best possible supports.
