Story Telling and Harvesting
Our day will be highly immersive and participatory including a lunch break and smaller breaks across the day.
Storytelling and capturing stories are important tools for communication, connection and understanding if what we are doing is making a difference. Data is all around us, how we capture and share the data (storytelling) plays a pivotal role in community engagement and change making.
Not only do stories connect us as humans, you never know when an opportunity to share or receive a story will happen. Storytelling connects us all in the moment and harvesting enables the stories to live on. Many believe that storytelling and harvesting is a unique skill reserved for elders, writers, artists or children. However, we can all be storytellers and we are all definitely recipients of them.
This workshop is for anyone interested in building their ability to capture and tell stories.
During this interactive workshop, you will learn:
• the purpose of storytelling and harvesting
• the role storytelling and harvesting plays in your work
• different ways to create opportunities to share and capture stories
• how to use storytelling for influence
• The importance of storytelling and its importance as data
