Harley is a passionate Community Builder and Facilitator on the Board of Directors at Jeder. Hailing from Sydney but now in Perth, Harley’s career has been diverse, starting as a dancer, then high-end hairdresser, and moving into Medical Officer management and governance. This eclectic background has given him a unique blend of creativity, leadership, and strategic & critical thinking.

At Jeder, he has found his passion for coaching and Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), particularly around asset mapping and project development. Harley believes that true community development happens when we harness the strengths within the community itself and that community building never works in straight lines and thrives in the wibbly wobbly.

He loves the continuous learning from engaging with diverse groups. Every session facilitated or person coached provides opportunities to learn from others, helping enrich his approach to community building. Balancing his fast-paced nature by slowing down and embracing Four Fold Practice has been a valuable lesson.

Outside of work, Harley enjoys time with his Cavoodles, Andrew and Abbie, daily beach trips and has a slight obsession with shoes! He is also deeply involved in the LGBTQIA+ community, serving on various boards and committees in Perth, and is passionate about advocacy and law reform.
