- As an independent support worker are you aware that you are a self-managing entity, and are responsible for informing any Participants that you support of your vaccination status?
- If you are working alongside a registered NDIS provider (i.e., Support Coordinator etc.), they have mandatory obligations to inform the NDIS on certain things. This includes if a NDIS participant has contracted COVID (report to the NDIS Commission) or if services are no longer able to be provided to a NDIS Participant due to Covid (report to the NDIS Commission).
- As a self-managing entity do you have a contingency plan for ongoing supports for your Participants if they test positive for COVID-19, if you are a positive COVID case or have been a close contact and are required to self-isolate? If not please advise the Participant and/or Support Coordinator.
- Do you have access to personal protective equipment if required? (masks, gloves, aprons, rapid antigen testing kits, etc.…) If you are a non-NDIS registered provider, and can no longer access PPE through usual means, contact your state or territory health authority.
